Mastercard and Microsoft, two of the world’s largest firms, have joined forces in an attempt to improve the online shopping experience and tackle digital fraud.
A global issue to the price of almost $50 billion “first-party fraud”- Where a legitimate purchase is made online but later disputed is one of the growing types of digital fraud.
Using their Digital Transaction Insight solution which has been enhanced with next-gen authentication and real-time decisioning capabilities. The solution pairs these insights with the merchant’s own data to confirm the consumer is who they claim to be and approve more genuine transactions.
Microsoft is the first partner to share these insights with Mastercard to integrate their Digital Transaction Insights across several lines of business from software to video games purchases and microtransactions in order to approve these genuine transactions, combat fraud and ensure that the merchant isn’t being caught out by fraudsters.
